Computational Systems

Franklin - Hostname: franklin.nersc.gov
The NERSC Cray XT4 system, named franklin.nersc.gov, is a distributed memory machine with 9,660 compute nodes, each containing 2 cores. Each core has a peak performance of 5.2 Gflops. Nodes have 4 GB of memory.
Bassi - Hostname: bassi.nersc.gov
The NERSC IBM p575 POWER5 system, named bassi.nersc.gov, is a buted memory machine with 111 compute nodes, each containing 8 processors. Each processor has a peak performance of 7.6 Gflops. Nodes have 32 GB of memory.
Jacquard - Hostname: jacquard.nersc.gov
Jacquard is a 712-processor Opteron cluster running Linux. Each two-processor node is connected by an InfiniBand network.
PDSF - Hostname: pdsf.nersc.gov
The PDSF is a networked distributed computing environment used to meet the detector simulation and data analysis requirements of large scale High Energy Physics (HEP) and Nuclear Science (NS) investigations.

Mass Storage

HPSS - Hostname: archive.nersc.gov
The NERSC mass storage system is the High Performance Storage System (HPSS).

Analytics Server - Hostname: davinci.nersc.gov
The NERSC Analytics Server allows users to perform visualizations from remote locations. The machine is a Silicon Graphics Altix 350 with 32 1.4 GHz Itanium-2 processors, 192 GB of shared memory, and approximately 24 TB of disk space.
CVS - Hostname: cvs.nersc.gov
The NERSC CVS server is available to members of projects that are computing at NERSC.
