Index FINAL REMINDER: Newton to be decommissioned Friday, September 30

Dear NERSC users,

As previously announced, the NERSC Mathematics Server, Newton.
will be removed from service tomorrow, Friday September 30,
at 10:00. NERSC users who have files on this machine should
move their important files to other systems e.g. Seaborg,
Jacquard, DaVinci, HPSS or their home site.

NERSC staff are making arrangements to archive files left in users'
home directories; the archives (tar files) will be placed in home
directories in archive.nersc.gov, along with index files that
list the contents of the corresponding tar files.

IMPORTANT:  NO ARCHIVING WILL TAKE PLACE IN $SCRATCH!  ALL FILES
              IN $SCRATCH WILL BE DISCARDED!

If you have important files in $SCRATCH on Newton, please save them
before 10:00 tomorrow morning.

Please note, the Math applications that are available on Newton,
viz., MATHEMATICA, MATLAB, MAPLE, are now available on DaVinci
and Jacquard.
