Dear NERSC SP Users, My recent email regarding Visualization Software on the SP Phase II System generated 44 responses. The summary below shows the percentage (in parentheses) of users who said they will use the software if available: IDL (34%) VTK (10%) NCAR Graph (25%) ghostview (66%) gnuplot (57%) ImageMagick (16%) imtools (9%) MPEG (20%) pbmplus (16%) xv (55%) We are investigating installation and support issues but we fully expect to provide the above packages. We are also planning to install Tcl/Tk. A number of you mentioned Visualization Software package that was not on the original list: ferret http://ferret.wrc.noaa.gov/Ferret/ gplot http://www-vis.lbl.gov/software/gplot.html GrADS http://grads.iges.org/grads/ OpenDx http://www.opendx.org/ PVWAVE http://166.93.207.6/products/wave/ xmgr http://plasma-gate.weizmann.ac.il/Xmgr/ xmgrace http://plasma-gate.weizmann.ac.il/Grace/ May I impose on you again to take a few minutes to review these choices also and let us know which of these you would use if they were available on the SP Phase II System. Your response will greatly help us in our decision to select the software packages that are likely to be most utilized. With thanks for your time.
