    Dear NERSC users,
 
netCDF 3.5.1 has been installed on the IBM SP, and the
Visualization Server. This release of the netCDF library
includes bug fixes and portability and performance
enhancements to version 3.5. The netCDF file format
is unchanged, so files written with previous versions
can be read or written with version 3.5.1.

To access the new version, use: "module load netcdf/3.5.1".
 
IBM SP users: please note,both 32-bit and 64-bit address
space libraries are available. To access 64-bit version
use: "module load netcdf_64/3.5.1".
 
Unless problems are found, this version will become the
default  on March 23, 2004.  The current version, 3.5
will be disabled and deleted soon thereafter.
