Dear NERSC User, NERSC is conducting its third User Survey. Please take a few minutes to fill out this year's survey. Your participation will allow us to judge the quality of our services, give DOE information on how we are doing, point us to areas we can improve, and show how we compare to similar facilities. The survey is on the web at the URL: http://hpcf.nersc.gov/about/survey/2000/ Please respond by Sunday, October 29, 2000. Based in part on last year's survey results, we instituted a number of changes at NERSC. Among them: * Created a long-running queue (12 hours maximum) for jobs using up to 256 PEs on the Cray T3E. * Opened a Cray SV1, seymour, for interactive use. * Created new email lists to keep you better informed of NERSC announcements and changes. * Made it easier to find information on the web concerning running batch and interactive jobs. * Added a NERSC Glossary and Acronym List to the web site. * Placed automated machine up/down information on the bottom of the HPCF Home Page.
