Dear Seaborg Users,

As a reminder Seaborg will be decommissioned at the end of the
allocation year. Please see the decommission schedule below for
important dates.

* January 1, 2008 - Seaborg will be running under a limited hardware and
software support contract. All important /scratch data should be backed
up to HPSS prior to January 1st as a precautionary measure. If Seaborg
were to suffer from a major outage it is likely the machine would not be
restored.

* January 7, 2008 16:00 Pacific Time - Seaborg batch queues stopped.

* January 7, 2008 20:00 - 23:59 Pacific Time - All MPP production
systems down for end of year accounting.

* January 8, 2008 16:00 Pacific Time - Seaborg user logins disabled.
Users will have until 16:00 PT to move /scratch data to HPSS.

Users should be migrating to other NERSC resources, Franklin, Bassi and
Jacquard as well as backing up important data to HPSS. Files remaining
in users' $HOME directories will be archived to HPSS, however files in
$SCRATCH directories WILL BE DELETED.

Please contact NERSC's User Services Group at consult_at_nersc_dot_gov
for any question or concerns. More detailed information can be found here:
