Computer Operations and ESnet Support Group Staff

Steve Lowe is the Group Lead for Operations group. He brings over 25 years of experience in the field, working previously at the Pentagon while in the Air Force, followed by 13 years at LLNL before coming to LBNL in 1996.

Rusty Huie provides computer operation support for NERSC. In his previous position, Rusty was a system administrator for a network of Macintoshes at the LLNL Computing Department. He earned an A.A. degree in computer science from Merritt College in Oakland.

Yu Lok Lam joined the Computer Operations and Network Support group since August 2000. Yu Lok attended San Francisco State University, where he earned a B.S. degree in Computer Information System. In addition, he obtained certification in Unix System Administration and Telecommunication and Network Engineering from U.C. Berkeley Extension. His responsibilities are to provide operations and network support to NERSC and ESNET.

Alex Ubungen is pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science at San Francisco State University. He came from Pacific Gas and Electric Company, where he worked for 16 years. He has ten years of experience in the mainframe environment, and a little over four years experience in imaging technology, as a technical specialist in a document management system.
