NUG Meeting June 3-5, 2002, at Berkeley Lab

• Monday, June 3: NUG Business Meeting in Perseverance Hall (Building 54, Room130), which is the conference room annexed to the Lab's cafeteria.
• Tuesday, June 4: Training Classes at the Oakland Scientific Facility and also presented on the Access Grid.
• Wednesday, June 5: Visualization Requirements Workshop in Perseverance Hall (Building 54, Room130).

Accommodations

We have reserved a room block at the Hotel Shattuck Plaza for NUG attendees for the nights of June 2, 3, 4 & 5. The room block is under the group name "NUG - LBL", and rooms are being offered at $69 per night, plus tax. Transportation To Berkeley Lab

The Downtown Berkeley Shuttle Stop is located at the corner of Center and Shattuck, one block north of the Hotel Shattuck Plaza. When leaving the front entrance of the hotel, turn right and walk up to Shattuck Avenue. You will then head left for one block on Shattuck. The Berkeley Lab Shuttle Stop is located on Center Street, next to the Wells Fargo Bank building. The Berkeley Lab Shuttle runs every 10 minutes and will drop you off at the main Lab Shuttle Stop (Station No. 1). Please transfer to an On-Site Shuttle which will take you to Building 54 (Cafeteria Building). You may ask the driver to notify you if you are unsure where to disembark. The NUG meeting will take place in Perseverance Hall (Room130), which is the conference room annexed to the cafeteria.

To return to the hotel at the close of the meeting, please catch the regular On-Site Lab shuttle from the shuttle stop outside Building 54 back to Station 1. You will then transfer to the Off-Site Shuttle, which will take you back at the Downtown Berkeley Shuttle Stop.

Transportation to Oakland Scientific Facility (OSF)

The Downtown Berkeley BART Station is located on Shattuck Avenue, at Center Street, one block north of the Hotel Shattuck Plaza. When leaving the front entrance of the hotel, turn right and walk up to Shattuck Avenue. You will then head left for one block on Shattuck. Please purchase a $1.10 ticket and catch either the San Francisco or Fremont-bound trains. You will disembark at the Downtown Oakland 19th Street Station. Exit the BART Station at the 20th Street exit, and you will see the OSF building across the street, next to the World Savings Bank. Please ring the bell and let the security officer know that you are there to attend the NUG meeting.

To return to the hotel at the close of the meeting, please purchase a $1.10 ticket, catch the Richmond-bound train and exit at the Downtown Berkeley BART Station.
